Pedal regal

A video on youtube has just been posted of a recording of a “Pedal Regal” built by Marcus Stahl. This is an instrument (only pedal) placed under a harpsichord mostly for practising purposes. It could also be used well for continuo. It has a 16’ and 8’ Regal registers. For the recording, the openings were closed to balance the volume.

No worries. I found that it’s easier to start a new topic from the Jackrail home page, where you can select topic and category, rather than from my email.

The continuo/regal pedalboard looks interesting- I would like to hear the 16ft playing at full volume and in a more resonant acoustic, with other instruments. Listening to the Bach C major prelude BWV 547 it sounds more like an organist’s practice aid. Nice performance of this difficult piece, by the way: I was hoping we would also hear the fugue, which is great!
